If you're anything like me you may be desperately trying to cut out plastic from your life and you've probably realised that it's harder than it seems. We have come to rely on plastic in our lives so much that we can't seem to get away from it. We wrap our grain, dairy, fruit, veg, cosmetics, health and beauty products, drinks and so much more in it. Even fruits with natural barriers like melons and bananas are put into plastic bags. It has become so natural for us to use single-use plastics that nobody thinks of the practicalities of it anymore.

Although there are lots of ideas and alternatives to plastic wrapped items out there, they’re not always easy to find. Did you know that at The Kentish Soap Company we sell a natural, plastic-free alternative to shower gel? The sisal soap bag!
Sisal is a natural fibre extracted from the Agave Sisalana plant. Sisal is truly an eco-friendly option as not only is it a sustainable resource it is biodegradable, thus further reducing damage to the environment.
Our sisal bags fit one of our natural soap bars perfectly. Just pop the soap inside, wet in the shower and use to clean and gently exfoliate your whole body. Hang your soap bag up to dry in between washes to make the soap last longer, and if you have any soap ends left over from your kitchen or bathroom they can be put in the bag too so not a single scrap goes to waste. When you've finally run out of soap in the bag, give your sisal bag a wash and use again and again.
Another option for a less exfoliating shower is a ramie shower scrunchie. Ramie is a vegetable fibre that is biodegradable. This works the same as a normal shower scrunchie but is plastic-free and can be washed and used again and again!

I hope this helps you all on your journeys to reduce plastic for the planet! Check out our website and social media pages for more natural, eco-friendly soaps, body products and home fragrance products!
