A story of freshness
Meet The Kentish Soap Company
We are an award winning independent, family run business located in Kent, United Kingdom.
We are pleased to have won the Janey Loves Platinum Awards three times and been a Silver winner in the European-wide Free From Skincare Awards. We have appeared in the national press (The Times and The Observer), Country Living and Kent Life magazines, and on BBC Radio Kent and Made in Kent Radio amongst other places. We have been recognised by the government-backed Thames Estuary organisation as a visionary business for good, green growth.
Our soap is made using the traditional cold process method, starting with our unique blends of natural oils and butters, selected for their skin nurturing properties. All our skin care recipes are safety assessed by a qualified cosmetic chemist. We are members of the Guild of Craft Soap and Toiletry Makers, Federation of Small Businesses, Kent Invicta Chamber of Commerce and Produced in Kent associations.
Our products can be ordered online or you can purchase them directly from our stall at the events that we attend throughout the year. We also have a selection of stockists which can be found at: www.kentishsoap.com/stockists
We love to share our passion at soap making workshops that we hold at our premises in Sittingbourne, Kent.
Look out for our special, limited edition, seasonal fragrances. For all the latest news follow us on Facebook Twitter and Instagram, or sign up for our email list on our home page to keep up to date.
YOU, US AND OUR GORGEOUS WORLD
Long before we ever made our first bar of soap, we've always cared about the environment, and we promised to always continue this love affair, which we're proud to say we have.
Our natural soaps, candles, and bath and body products are all handmade in small batches to ensure we maintain our high quality. We also make sure that no artificial colours or fragrances are used at any stage of the process.
We try to source our ingredients as ethically and in as eco-friendly a way as possible. We've never used palm oil in our products, and we never will. Our shea butter comes from a women's cooperative where the funds go directly to the women in the villages rather than to an intermediary. No monkeys are used in the collection of coconuts for the coconut oil that we use. And the soy wax we use in our candles comes from readily renewable resources, is sustainable and certified free from GMO.
And to make sure we're going above and beyond for the environment, each of our products are vegan-friendly and come in plastic-free packaging.
We Really do care.
Always have, always will.
There is no Planet B. That's why we planned to always do our bit for Mother Nature. It isn't much, but we vowed never to use palm oil in our products, never to add artificial colours or fragrances, and to always wrap our goodies in plastic-free packaging. And that's just one part of our social mission.
We are also proud to be a supporting member of the Kent Wildlife Trust, which works to protect local wildlife and wild habitats in Kent, while we also work with The Hygiene Bank Rochester, donating as much of our products as we can to support people in crisis and those struggling on low income.
We're delighted to be a Thames Estuary Visionary business, helping to achieve good, green growth in the Thames Estuary area.
Further afield, we also support the Salaam Baalak Trust in Delhi, India, which is a non-profit, non-governmental organisation working tirelessly to help, educate and create a secure environment for children working and living on the streets.
And on the other side of the world, we are proud to be sponsoring a gorgeous orangutan within The Orangutan Project in Northern Sumatra, Indonesia - a species that is increasingly close to extinction as a result of palm oil plantations and logging.
